SIGNED limited edition of leatherbound, slipcased copies, this being #853/1000. 246pp. Color frontispiece by Carl Rungius, and photos from the private collections of Wm Sheldon and Richard Borden. Amazingly this story of exploration was completed by two young men, Sheldon and his partner Richard Borden. At the time of these adventures they were 18-20 and 20-22 years old, respectively! Think about that. On their own in unknown wilderness, collecting specimens and data on wild shhep (and other animals and birds) for the scientic world of Washington, DC.
