Rutledge, Archibald. An American Hunter. Premier Press. 1991. #685/3000, leatherbound, gilt stamped and aeg with marker ribbon. The Premier Press books were splendidly made with fancy endpapers, raised hubs, pigskin leather, the works. Drawings by Lynn Bogue Hunt. Rutledge was one of the very best of the many southern writers and one of the most loved. His stories of hunting are singluar in their attention to details. He also spent some time up north and became a follower of the ruffed grouse and ring-necked pheasant. Down home he persued wild turkey, bobwhite quail, white-tailed deer and waterfowl--ducks and geese. Wonderful reading, 461 pages of it! Mint with original glassine wrapper. $110
