Limitation says 1000 copies were to be printed, but, in fact, ONLY 500 COPIES WERE PRINTED! Leather bound, silk marker ribbon bound in, silk endpapers issued in special clamshell box, linen with silk lining. This is Gene Hill's most difficult title to find, by far. It is also one of the most difficult Amwell titles to obtain. Fanciful story about how God kept trying until he got the Labrador Retriever just right. Lavishly illustrated in color by D. Benjamin van Steenburgh. Book is as new with the exception of one small 3/8 inch ink squiggle opposite the limitation page. (It may have happened at the signing. Sometimes they got wild.) There is also one tiny spot on limitation page and ffep opposite it. It is the size of the tip of a ball point pen, but is not from that). The clamshell box has a small water stain on inside corner (book is not affected and was probably not in the box when it happened). The linen exterior of the box is overall slightly darkened by dust or similar. Three of the corners show frayed linen, but that is the way they were finished by case maker. One looks like it is worn, but I would bet it just never got sewn properly, again in being made. I am being nit picking, so you will not be unhappy. Overall book is near as new, box is nr. fine. Finding this book is very difficult, it being scarce at best. $600
